I've been wanting a scooter for a while now to help save money on gas, but since Matthew would be the primary user of it and he was afraid of looking silly on a "wussy" scooter", we didn't. But after figuring out that we were spending almost $300 a month on gas.....and we don't drive all that many miles, and we don't drive the most gas-guzzling vehicles.....Matthew finally agreed to get a scooter. He drives it to and from work every day and we'll use it for little errands here and there. We kept the Accord he used to drive to work every day and with him not using it, it allows me to use it more often which saves us more gas as well because it's more economical than the Pilot. We figure with the money we save from him driving the scooter, and me driving the Accord as often as allowed, we easily save enough money to make it all worth it. It has been really fun and the kids are always begging for rides. To heck with looking cool, right? Actually though, scooters are becoming more and more common these days because of gas prices, so it actually almost IS the cool thing to do now. Ironic!
